Humans of CDP #145: Teresa ’25 & Samira ’25

Today’s #HumansofCDP are Teresa Crisantos-Prudencio '25 and Samira Islam '25. Check out what these two have to say about CDP and one another!

How is EDUC 2610 different from other classes?

Teresa:

EDUC 2610 is different from my other classes as it is one of the only courses that uses co-learning. It is one of the only classes where I feel like l am not only a teacher but also a student who is constantly learning. This is also a course where genuine connection is possible and encouraged.

Why do you keep facilitating?

Samira:

Being a facilitator for CDP has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. Transitioning from a student in this course to a facilitator has provided me with a space for continuous learning and personal growth. What keeps me coming back is the people and the community – this space is filled with care, support, and meaningful connections. I have such fond memories with my fellow facilitators, and it’s truly a privilege to work alongside the students that I do.

What's your favorite thing about your co-facilitator?

Teresa:

My favorite thing about Samira is her ability to bring her authentic self into the class. She is able to connect with our students and hold their attention to explain important concepts in our course. She is always willing to push our students when needed as well.

Samira:

Working with Teresa has been a full-circle moment. We were both students in the same CDP class, and now getting to facilitate alongside her this semester has been so exciting. My favorite thing about Teresa is her dedication and the way she consistently shows up as her full, authentic self for our students.
