Today’s #HumansofCDP are Laura Twizere '26 and Anna Hooper '25. Check out what these two have to say about CDP and one another!
What have you learned about human connection in CDP?
Laura:
Through CDP, I’ve learned that human connection is built on intentionality, active listening, and a willingness to engage with perspectives different from our own. One of the most valuable takeaways for me has been the realization that meaningful conversations don’t require agreement, but rather a commitment to understanding.
What have you learned about social and personal identity in CDP?
Anna:
CDP has given me language and analytical tools to make sense of my own experiences and the world around me. I greatly enjoy learning about identity, system structures, and how individuals move within social constructions. I’ve learned so much about the importance of sharing stories together so that we can collaboratively build an understanding of how the world works. This learning has set me up with a lifelong passion for systems thinking and social justice.

What do you admire about your co-facilitator?
Laura:
I really appreciate Anna’s openness and the way she creates space for different perspectives. She listens with intention and approaches every conversation with both depth and curiosity.
Anna:
I greatly admire Laura’s passion for the course and ensuring that students have a valuable experience. Every session, Laura prioritizes student learning, always reflecting on where we can push and challenge them more. Laura has an inspiring ability to connect and care for students. She assesses each student individually, understanding student needs to ensure a transformative and connective experience for everyone. I’ve learned a lot from her about the importance of challenge and persistence in education.
