Our first #HumansofCDP for Spring 2026 are Sofia Pérez '28 and Leo Alger '27!
How has CDP impacted your life outside of Cornell?
Sofia:
CDP has equipped me with dialogue tools that have helped me strengthen the wonderful friendships I hold outside of Cornell. Connecting with others and working to understand perspectives that differ from my own are processes that have been facilitated by what I’ve learned from CDP! I feel confident that I will leave Cornell with the poise and communication skills to succeed in whatever career I may choose!
How is EDUC 2610 different from other classes?
Leo:
There is a rare diaspora of classes at Cornell that truly engage us as students to collaborate and learn how to dialogue with each other. The things we learn in this course provide us not just with an amazing backbone of communication for Cornell, but in our professional lives and personal pursuits.
What’s your favorite thing about your co-facilitator?
Sofia:
My favorite thing about Leo is how he shows up as his authentic self to every class and planning meeting. I appreciate how well he is able to connect with our students, and facilitating with him has brought me so many smiles. I feel lucky that I got to be a part of his facilitator journey in CDP!
What do you admire about your co-facilitator?
Leo:
Sofia is an extremely talented facilitator who truly knows what she’s doing. Even on top of her wind symphony practices and dance performances, she never ceases to provide our class with the best access to practicing dialogue and understanding the course as a whole.
