Humans of CDP #162: Gavin ’26 and Grace ’28

Our last #HumansofCDP for Spring 2026 are Gavin Ross '26 and Grace Reuben '28!

How has CDP impacted your life outside of Cornell?

Gavin:

CDP has given me so many different tools that I use in almost every interaction I have. From academic to professional to social, being a part of CDP has taught me the importance of communicating effectively across difference and how to implement those skills in a meaningful way.

Why did you become a facilitator?

Grace:

I chose to become a facilitator because I took EDUC 2610 last spring and thoroughly enjoyed the course. I loved how the class allowed me to learn valuable communication skills, connect with peers across many different majors, and reflect on our agency to tackle complex societal challenges. I learned a lot about myself through the course and many valuable skills in how to communicate across difference. I wanted to pay that forward by becoming a facilitator.

What do you admire about your co-facilitator?

Gavin:

I really admire Grace’s ability to connect her own personal experiences to the topics we discuss both in and outside of class. I appreciate hearing how she visualizes the different concepts we’re going through and it makes facilitating with her amazing!

What’s your favorite thing about your co-facilitator?

Grace:

My favorite thing about Gavin is his outgoing personality. He is very fun and easy to talk to, and he has a way of making everyone around him feel comfortable. He has an admirable passion for the course which really comes across in his facilitation style. He is a pleasure to work with and an amazing friend!
